Wende nominated for Amsterdam Arts Prize 2016

On Thursday June 2nd the Amsterdam Arts Fund (AFK) announced the nominees for the Amsterdam Arts Prize 2016. For the category Cultural Achievement: Wende, Joris Laarman and Sadettin Kirmiz?yüz are the nominees.

About the Amsterdam Arts Prize
The AFK awards the Amsterdam Arts Prize annually (three awards of €35,000 and a unique Amsterdam trophy) to three artists or organizations whose work offers a distinguishing and relevant contribution to the culture of the city. The longlist is assembled from the motivated recommendations of many Amsterdammers. A professional jury – this year headed by journalist and author Tracy Metz – then selects a shortlist according to the nominees, and finally the winners.
The Amsterdam Arts Prize is the most significant cultural award of the capital, and is awarded in three categories. One award stimulates innovative artists and organizations with an incentive prize, there is an award for the best cultural achievements, and finally a prize for proven quality. The awards ceremony for all three prizes will take place this year on August 25th. Read more
