Amsterdam, Wednesday 30 May 2018 – Putting together your ideal evening programme has always been a dream of Wende. Artists including Blaudzun, the National Opera & Ballet, David Laport and Jeangu Macrooy can all be heard over one great evening in Wende’s Kaleidoscoop. Naturally she will be performing too. A one-time event and exclusive to Carré, on Thursday 4 October 2018.
There is nothing better than discovering new worlds, being amazed by the unknown that exists outside of the comfortable algorithm. We live in a ‘shuffle generation’: genres are blurred and and readily mixed with each other.
Wende aims to take the audience by the hand, falling from one musical world into the next. From concerts to modern dance, from a lecture to a fashion show. Not only the stage but the entire space of Carré is utilised, fully submerging the audience in the experience that is Wende’s Kaleidoscoop.
Wende: ‘If there’s one place where a wealth of variety all comes together, that’s Carré. And what’s more, it’s also such a beautiful hall. The fact that I was invited to become artist-in-residence there last year was a real honour, and as a result of this collaboration I will be organising a festival on October 4, where we show our passion for uniting a diverse range of disciplines. And producing a fantastic show of course!’
Madeleine van der Zwaan, director of Carré: ‘It has been inspiring to organise this very special evening in Carré with Wende. It’s an example of the initiatives that we aim to develop with our artist-in-residence. This will be an evening to remember.”
Wende’s Kaleidoscoop will take place exclusively on 4 October in the Royal Theatre Carré.
